Just updating a user display name. When I make the change and click "Update Member" nothing happens.
I looked at the permissions in the /forums/scripts directory and they are all 644. (including editusers.inc.php, if that is the relevant script).
This directory is not specifically mentioned in the "Set File & Directory Permissions" for Linux servers.
Should the permissions be something else?
Or am I barking up the wrong tree and I have some other setting incorrect that is making this unable to save the user edit?
Thanks!

Check all "tabs" on the edit profile screen after attempting to submit a change, does anything have a red box around it? (HTML5 warning that elements aren't completely filled in that are required to submit a form)

Another FYI with edit users comes multiple tabs. So say you are editing the permissions tab and try to save and it barks. The missing info could be in the profile tab or whatever other tabs there are.. Especially if you have changed setting requirements for registrations after the user registered.

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't remember that. Turns out the user had a typo in his website entry on the Profile tab.
