Hi there,

I have a problem with the built in email function in UBBT.
I used a MySQL Command to set all users to allow mass mails from the admin and wrote an email to them.

I enter a subject, choose a group, enter a body and then also put one address in the BCC field.
I send around different mails and have seen that the only one who gets this mail is the person in teh BCC field.

The whole group (everyone I choose) is not getting it.

Can someone please assist?

http://www.clanforums.com UBBT v. 6.2.2

Thanks in advance...

I'm having the same problem with 6.2. The email users function does not seem to be working.

I think this is becoming a known issue. I'm tempted to move this post to the bugs forum.

Are you on your own server.....

I think it has to do wtih some hosts not allowing lots of email addresses relayed in the BCC field.

The field that you fill in, when you send your email gets put in the "TO:" part of the email headers.... the email addresses of the users get put in the BCC field.

I would ask your host if they allow mail in the BCC field like that. You are basically BCCing 50 people at a time when you mass email from threads.

Or email error logs might offer some clues. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hi Josh,

my hoster is the major player here in germany and I am not hosted on a dedicated machine. They won't play around on settings for me cause this will also change it for hundreds of other customers.

Within my old ubb.classic I was able to send around emails to all of my users (~500 in the past) and it worked fine.

I think there must be a way for threads to handle this also or?

What about a routine that builts a list of the chosen group and sends the emails one after another until end of the list? I am sure that this will take longer but I am also sure that then all of your customers who have problems with this will get rid of it cause I don't know any hosters that disabled sending one email ;-)

I'm not on a dedicated server but i've never had a problem with sending multiple emails in the bcc field. Also, I believe that the "email users" function has worked periodically but I'm not sure of this. In any case I would greatly appreciate it being put on the bugs forum and being treated as a known issue. This is a very important function for us as we use the forums as classrooms/conference rooms for professional groups and sending them periodic announcements is crucial.

Thanking you in advance,
Dan Hill
