How can an entire thread be deleted and not remain on a board?
Also, what file contains "stranger" and "newbie"? I found the filters/usertitles and have tried implementing them, but no matter what I do, people who sign on still receive the title of "stranger"

Did you force the change over? Until a previous "stranger" hits the next "mark", it won't change their title, unless you force the title change across all the users.

Good point, but the users weren't hitting the next mark. I made the levels steps of ten so that every ten posts they go up a level. And I removed the unkind "stranger" title to "Newly Registered". But instead, now they appear as "newbie". What the--? Where did "newbie" come from? So is there a file I am missing?

I have found that some very recent users have now adopted "Newly Registered" as their title instead of "Stranger". It looks like there was a bit of a delay before the list's changes kick in? Also, those who were signed up as "stranger" - are they going to stay that forever, or when will the new titles and levels I've put in set in?
My list is as follows:
0 Newly Registered

10 Exploring the Forums

20 Settled in Comfortably

30 Having a Great Time

40 Real Enthusiast

50 Addiction Setting In

60 Addicted to Forums

75 Totally Addict

200 Hopeless Addict

You can edit that file directly or edit it via the Admin panels (Edit Titles)
Until the strangers hit the next plateau, they won't change unless you force the change, that goes through the database and rewrites titles to them. As to your Newly Registered starting to show, they probably had registered, and didn't post for a bit after they first signed on. The change happens as soon as the file is modified, just your observations of the change could've been delayed by coincidental occurrences.
