Hi,

If i download the newest version and open the
files i see the [] sign and not a hard return
in notepad ... i know you can solve that by
using another editer but i always use notepad
and wanna keep that ... in the previous version
it was okay with the [] (i didn't see it) but in
the newest version it is not okay and there are
no hard returns but [] ... can you solve that ?

Can you tell me if you downloaded those to a Mac or directly to a Unix machine?

I download it and put it in a map on my win2000
computer (so not a mac or unix computer) ...
i open it with winzip ... and with the older
version i don't get the [] signs.

One more question ... can i use the language file
from the older version (i didn't use the beta
before) ... i have translate it in dutch before
so i hope i can use the same ... or do i have to
make some changes ... or everything new ?

a map? I'm sorry, I don't follow?

Are those the telltale kind of 'binary' boxes??? Maybe are you using a text editor which does not handle .php as ASCII and is instead showing them as binary?

Is it all the files or just a specific one?

Sorry for "a map" ... my englisch is not so
good but "a map" is an directory (i guess) ... just an
new directory on my computer ... my texteditor is
the standard notepad on every computer ... but
it depends not of the editer because the older
version i dont get the [] and thats with the
same editor. And it is by all files ... not a
specific one. So maybe it depends how "you"
upload (binary,asc11) the files ?

I hope you can help me with it, because i make
some little changes in the php itself
(see http://www.jongerenpraat.nl for older
version)
... so with the [] signs i can not make these
changes and so i can't install the newest version.

Okay ... now i use another text editor ... and
i read that you have to upload all files new so
also the language files etc. ... i follow the
instructions but now i get:

No moderators on the main site and no text from
the language files ?

Ah i know what the fault is ... it depends on the
[] ... i shall try to solve it by myself.

A nifty way to fix problem files like this is to use ftp to send them to a server as Binary, then download them from the server as ASCII. That should fix the problem.
