Problems with my hosting compnay required me to re-install my trial version from scratch. I got through all steps which result in arriving at this page.

http://www.allenonline.com/ubbthreads/createtable.php

Page says, "Createtable.php has already been run. Your tables already exist."

I cannot find the link to the newuser script to create the admin account and get my password.

I have not deleted the delete install.php, the altertable scripts, and createtable.php files.

Please help.

Normally, after you install - remove the create table file and the install file. Then bring up ubbthreads normally in your browser.

http://www.allenonline.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

However it doesn't appear that it's installed correctly as all it ouputs is the header. I'd verify path settings in main.inc.php and config.inc.php.

" verify path settings in main.inc.php and config.inc.php."

How do I do that? Is that the paths I originally set? All passed.

Well - I'd check them - don't go by if the installer said they passed - sometimes that can be incorrect. Make sure they are full server paths from the server's root.

Okay. I figured I’d start all over.

I deleted all files from the server and reinstalled trial version. When I got to the create table page again I got the same message:

“Createtable.php has already been run. Your tables already exist."

Again I still could not find the link to the newuser script to create the admin account and get my password.

I then went ahead and typed in: http://www.allenonline.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php.

My old previously deleted control panel from my first install (before the server problem) appeared. It had my original test posts and my admin password set and all. How did this happen when I deleted this?

I am confused and sinking fast.

Did you delete the previously created database tables before performing the reinstall? It doesn't sound like it...

I did not know how to do that. All I did is delete all the files in the ubbthreads directory by FTP. I guess I messed up.

Okay, no worries... let's delete those tables then. Do you have phpMyAdmin installed on your server? Your host might have a version you can get through their control panel.

No sir. I do not have phpMyAdmin. My web hosting control panel produces a 404 error when I click on information about this. Can I get it somewhere else? And, will this be easy? I am new to database stuff. Been using Classic for years.

phpMyAdmin is a little on the complex side... but it's probably the best web-based MySQL management tool out there. You can find more information on the official phpMyAdmin site.

As an alternative, you can ask your web hosting provider to drop all of the tables in your database that start with "w3t_", which is the default table prefix.

I just found this on my control panel. Can I use this.

MySQL Database Dumper
This page will dump the contents and structure of a table or entire database in ASCII format. If you do not give a table name, all tables in your database will be dumped.

It asks for the table name. Do I use the w3t_ as you suggest above?

I dump would be a backup - you want to "drop" or delete the tables.

Great. It's dump not delete.

So, to clean my files of the trial version I need to know how to access my database files by leaning how to use phpMyadmin or asking my hosting service to do it for me.

If I go for the paid version will it take care of this problem?

Using the Trial or Paid version makes no difference in this case. To "start over" as it were, will require emptying your database of the previously installed w3t_ tables (or those pertaining to ubb.threads if you did not use w3t_ as the table prefix).

If you are unable to access your tables via phpmyadmin, command line, or other database management system then yes, you'll have to get your system administrator to drop the tables for you.

OR, if your server control panel allows you to create new databases, make a new one <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
