Hello.

We are trying to put rotating banners on our boards (6.2.2). We put them in the header.php file, but they don't rotate because this file does not refresh. Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks,
Carl

Are you using a sytem to load them or just add the html to the header?

If you need a system, try www.phpadsnew.com, it's free and very versatile.

Thanks for the reply J.C.

We're using an ad network, so we just inserted their code. We're hoping there's a way to get the header to refresh every time someone goes to a new page.

You need cache busting code from your ad network <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> The ads are probably being cached.

Here's the rub:
It appears that the header does not refresh when a user views posts, it refreshes only when a post is made. This means a user can look through 20 posts and see the same banner.

We'd like to keep the banner at the top of the page, but it seems like we need to tell the header to refresh every time someone clicks.

Thanks,
Carl

No........... you need the banner to change every page chosen. Like I said your banner is being cached. If it doesn't change each pageload, it won't change when the page refreshes either. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That's starting to make sense. I'll talk to the ad network and try to get that code. Thanks for your patience.
