UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.classic UBB.classic 6 Support Member Sharing Between multiple UBBs ?

I have searched through the other posts and really couldn't find an answer to exactly my question.

Is it possible to have the member files shared between multiple UBBs, so a user can register at either 1 of them or a centralized location, and be able to have their profile and member information used at all boards?

I do understand it is 1 license per install.

I am just looking into options here for the future. I run forums for gaming and racing sites, and it might be more benificial for hosting growth to have them seperated on their own specialized board and specialized URL, rather than a generic central board, especially since there is only 3 levels of depth (catagory > forum > threads) where I could use 4 (main catagory > sub catagory > forum > threads). Also, not having the catagories color customizable doesn't give a good feel on that level.

It's really problematic to try to share member files among different .classic boards because the
posting history stores forum number and topic number (which would conflict across different boards), and you've got issues with admins/mods across the boards (what if someone is a mod on one board and just a regular joe on the other?), not to mention private forums...

One potential solution could be to move over to UBB.threads, keep your single member base, and display the categories on separated pages (see the instruction here: http://www.infopop.com/support/ubbthreads/UBBTadmin.html#_Toc6907051) . Of course, remember that .threads is an entirely different message board than .classic, so it's got lots of other differences, but it might be something for you to consider...
