When I attempt to Import a JC style template I get this message:

ERROR: I can't overwrite an existing style template (number 7). Your style template list is out of synch with the actual number of style templates.

How do I put my list into sync with my templates?

As long as you're sure, you can simply delete vars_style_7.cgi from NonCGI/styles.

(UBB thinks you only have styles up to 6, but there's a style #7 in the directory)
