is there a way i can put a password on a specific fourm, where the forum can not be viewd unless a password is enterd. cause when i put a password on the foruem for CP it still alows users to see the posts but doesnt let them post or reply.

Try » Control Panel » Forum Settings » Member messages

Select the Forum you want and click on Details

There is a check box about 3/4 down the page that allows you to limit viewing and posting to those with the required password.
