Some of my members have complained that when they click on a topic they will have to log on again before they can post.

Is that a UBB problem or a browser problem and how do I go about fixing it?

Thanks.

Are you sure they post via ultimatebb.cgi, meaning the forums are not in a frame of some sort <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You need to link to Ultimatebb.cgi when sending people to the forums. using ultimatebb.php may cause problems with the cookies.

Thanks for the reply but it didnt work.

Any other ideas?

I recently upgraded and didnt have the problem with my old version.

Could the upgrade have something to do with my problem?

Can you find out what browsers are being used here? Also if there are any privacy settings enabled in firewall programs such as Norton.

If IE6, try lowering the security settings and seeing if it helps.

And just to clarify - can the users log in initially and have that reflected at the top (Hello, Graeme).

Yes, they can log on initially. It was just kicking them off when they tried to respond to a post.

I think JC has fixed it for me now but thanks for the responses.

Some people are still saying they have a problem.

Could something like a banner rotator possibly be causing it?

Possible, but I doubt it.. It'd have to specifically be clearing the UBB's cookies...

I'm inclined to advise you to the support ticket system.
