We'd like to have links that lead directly to a forum as opposed to the list of forums. In the 5 series this "broke" the lightbulbs & folders. Is that still the case? Is there a work-around for this?

It is not still the case.

If you're using PB2, be sure to always link to ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=# (rather than the PHP accelerator!)
