i'm not sure if this topic has been posted already, but i need help bout this asap.

some spammers had been posting on our forum and it's so hard to delete each post cuz it would still leave that "post edited by____" thing, so it's like..what's the point. but yea, i need to know how to disable a feature that allows unregistered people to post on the forum.

The control for this feature is inside the Details page of each forum, when viewing the Forum Settings area of your control panel.

If you know the version you're using, I can give you more exact instructions.

Enter the control panel, click Forum Settings. For each forum on the resulting page, click the Details link on the far right. Look at the Permissions tab, and at the very bottom, you'll find the permission matrix. Change the Guests group from its current setting to Read Only, then click the submit button at the bottom of the page.

Hello, I am using classic 6.7.2 and have all forums set to only allow posts from registered users but we are getting unregistered users posting spam. Any thoughts?

are you requiring them to log in before posting? It still shouldn't allow unregged to post, but this is another speed bump that keeps them from reaching the posting pages.

I think so but I will check. I am new to this and the board owner is away. Thanks for the tip.
