If you follow the
tranfer instructions exactly you will preserve your setup, members and posts.
Do not try to transfer and upgrade at the same time. Upgrade your current UBB and be sure it is running properly. Then follow the transfer instructions so you can install on the new server and get it running, then transfer the important files. NT is a different animal. Be sure your new host is really competent to help you install. They will have to set permissions for you and configure the server to run .cgi scripts.
Backup the four variables files before you start and do not delete any members files or posts on the old server until all is well at the new location.
Infopop can do the move for you, but it is rather expensive due to the time involved.
