Is there any type of prefix system for UBB.threads where you can essentially “label” posts?

For example, if I have a forum for operating systems I could use prefixes to distinguish between Windows, Linux, etc.

Or I could use them to refer to a specific version of a product, etc.

in For Sale, Want To Buy, and Group Buys forums, I've done two different methods.

Have the users prefix their posts with -
FS:
WTB:
GB:

The other thing was to create a category called "Private Party Sales". Then create three sub forums called -
For Sale
Want To Buy
Group Buys

The first option is nice if you have very few new topics
The second option is nice if you are busy and want to make the topics easy for everyone to deal with, without having to ask that the OP (or a moderator to edit) write a prefix in their topic.

Add POST ICONS for each item.
Have the user choose the correct post icon as it relates to their post.
I also have seen colored arrows used.

RED - For Sale
BLUE - Want To Buy
GREEN - Group Buy

But you already have forum categories with sub categories.

There is nothing wrong with having your users place their posts in to the correct forum. Having moderators will help that process happen. They can move the posts to the correct categories. edit them. correct the prefix. inform the members that posts related GOOGLE DEVICES go in to the ANDROID FORUM (or should use a green robot post image). and posts related to anything iOS/iPadOS go in to the APPLE FORUM (or use a rainbow apple post image). Having correctly titled categories not only help your users, but also make the jobs of your moderators much easier.

If you plan on having a large forum, you should also plan on having moderators.

First you need to add the image to the forum icons list by going to CP>Display> Images & Icons
Tab over to forum images then at the bottom is a button "add new forum image"
Select it and upload the image.
Then select update/remove forum images

Then goto cp>content>forums
Select the details of the forum you wish to have a icon
At the bottom is Forum Image select change
The list of forum icons will appear.
Select the one you want then select use this image

To save select submit changes
