Well not sure if it can be overridden by UBB but the MySQL STOPWORDS list prevents certain words from being searched to prevent searching for common words that would often return too many hits.
In some cases though especially when there is a time limited search period you may want to search for these terms. This morning I wanted to search for "Welcome" in the last week only but it's a STOPWORD and does not search for it. Since most users would have no way to change this on their host provider if UBB can allow some way around that (with controls so you don't hammer a system needlessly) that would be cool.
