About an hour's drive to Timberline Lodge from here. Get this... Im about an hour and a half from Seaside, OR which is one of my favorite beaches  ...

Portland is in a great position; Oregon has a ton of natural/protected parkland, pretty close to the ocean, a load of lakes and rivers, several mountains, etc...

Nice Gizmo. I have not yet been up that way, but I've got some friends up there. This year's vacation is to the Grand Canyon in October.

Look like a postcard Around my home we have no mountains. All flat. I have to drive 250km to reach a hill of 1000m and 650km for The Alps.
