I don\'t work on machines of this vintage often, so I cannot guarantee I checked every part of the unit. Optional modem is not installed. Floppy drive working, but the ejectdoesn\'t always work and sometimes requires a disk to be present for the unit to function. The passive matrix color screen (only on the 520c) seems to work well. Sound is working. I removed the top case to check the internals and I saw no signs of battery / capacitor damage or leakage.Comes with PowerBook computer and Power Adapter only.Expansion modules included: 2 OEM batteries (the empty bay cover is not included).
As with all PowerBooks of this age, plastics are brittle. Hinges and other plastic parts of the laptop look good for now, but can break at any time The latch has already broken so the unit does not stay closed properly. All other plastics such as the hinge and clutch covers and port door present.
Special notes about this item:- As you may have noticed in the last picture, the power adapter is not original. The original power adapter no longer works, so I salvaged the connector off of it and attached it to an Apple AirPort Extreme power supply with similar specifications. The two cables are combined using electrical tape. For long term use I would suggest soldering the wires together and sealing them more professionally, but it works for now. Most original supplies have already stopped working or don\'t have much life left.- Unlike some PowerBooks of this vintage, the batteries no not need to be removed for the unit to be powered on. Simply plug in the adapter and press the power key to start the unit.- When inspecting the unit for damaged internals, the RAM bracket would not go back into place. It will be included. This does not affect machine function.
