Can be a bit finicky setting up initially. If Synology Assistant doesn\'t initially recognize DS112 with drive inserted, you may need to follow these Synology Support instructions:
- Do NOT insert a drive - connect network cable and power up DS112 empty
- Synology Assistant recognizes empty DS112
- Shut down DS112 and insert drive
- Power up again and have Synology Assistant recognize it (should see it with drive this time)
- Now its ready to install DSM (DiskStation Manager) operating system (see last photo)

DiskStation Manager (DSM)
The Web Based Platform:DSM is a web based platform. This means that you can select the service that you want to use and install the corresponding apps, only when you need it. Stay Connected with Notifications:You can get notifications on the status of your DiskStation through multiple channels.
