This laptop is loaded with MX Linux V23 (Libretto) operating system which is lightweight distribution suited for older computers. It is preloaded with Libre Office (clone of MS Office), Firefox browser, and a ton of other software. This is a great laptop in great condition.
The only function that does not operate normally is the suspend and hibernate mode in the power management settings. This is a common occurrence when converting laptops to Linux operating systems. The work around for this is to simply not let it go into sleep or hibernation mode (select "never")and instead just use the brightness settings to dim the screen after a defined time interval and also use the screen saver function. Additionally, the settings for closing the laptop are set to either "lock screen" or "do nothing". In either case, when the lid is closed, the screen will go off until you open it again. This is how I run my linux laptops and works perfectly fine for managing power. The laptop is set up in this manner so note what the settings are when you receive the laptop.
The laptop will come with a unique username and password and can be used right out of the box.
