ABOUT: For your consideration is a ready-to-restore vintage Macintosh from my personal vintage parts machine archive. This unit retains all 4 of its fragile feet and both of its rear locking tabs. This project has no HD, but does have its original SCSI cable and has been tested to power on, chime, and display the "?" icon on a compatible monitor.
Please remember that, while I am a retro tech enthusiast, I am not an expert on the specifics of any given piece of retro technology. Some small components may be missing that I am not familiar with, so please ask any questions BEFORE offerding. This is a piece of 1990's technology that is incomplete and in need of restoration, offerding on it constitutes an interest to tinker with the understanding of nearly guaranteed random hardware issues and unexpected hurdles common to retro 1993 Macintosh Centris 610• 20Mhz 68LC040 CPU• Single 72-pin SIMM installed + onboard 4MB RAM (so likely 8MB total)• DB-15 Mac video (tested working with Mac monitor, not included)• Internal auto-inject floppy drive is BROKEN
• AppleDesign Keyboard and ADB Mouse II are included• Period-correct gray C13 cable is Mac was lightly dusted and cleaned- it retains a bit of dust here and there but is inoverall clean condition considering the age. These units are notorious for perished case plastics, and while all the plastics on this unit are intact, they are likely very brittle. This unit will ship heavily padded and the lid will be left slightly ajar to maintain the integrity of the rear latches.
There are multiple signs of capacitor spillage on the logic board (see photos). This unit was tested to chime and power on, but will certianly need a PCB clean-up and re-cap.TESTING:This Mac has been tested with a standard VGA 1080P LCD monitor with a DB-15 adapter and was able to power on, chime, and display. the "?" icon. The internal floppy drive has a motor issue and will not accept a floppy disk, it is considered broken and in need of full is a used,barebones, vintage Mac that is offered ASIS for enthusiastrebuild or collecting. It is not a modern computer and will require tinkering to findcompatiblecomponents and get it fully functioning. I am offering this unit to another enthusiast with theunderstanding that the buyer is willing toundertake responsibility for the many repair and maintenance variables that come with antique computer components including such delicate tasks as floppy drive reconditioning and capacitor replacement. Due to the weight, this unit cannot ship to a PO Box, APO, or FPO.
