ABOUT:For your consideration is a 90's Gateway laptop, offered for a retro enthusiast to restore or scavenge parts from. This unit has NO hard drive, but does have RAM, original floppy, original battery, and a clean chassis ready for restoration!
Please remember that, while I am a retro tech enthusiast, I am not an expert on the specifics of any given piece of retro technology. Some small components may be missing that I am not familiar with, so please ask any questions BEFORE offerding. Screen hinges appear tight and the keyboard and trackball are cleaner than average for a laptop of this age. Passive matrix LCD appears good for the age aside from normal ghosting. Laptop was tested to boot to BIOS. Floppy motor engages but doesn't read a floppy, it is assumed that the floppy needs -at minimum- a new is a used,barebones, vintage laptop that is offered ASIS for enthusiastrebuild or collecting. It is not a modern computer and will require tinkering to findcompatiblecomponents. I am offering this unit to another enthusiast with theunderstanding that the buyer is willing toundertake responsibility for the many repair and maintenance variables that come with antique computer components including such delicate tasks as capacitor replacement.
