Setting Permissions Using CuteFTP

The following instructions will help you set permissions appropriately if you are using the CuteFTP® client.

1.       Open your FTP client and connect to your web server. 

2.       Right click the file or directory folder for which you wish to change permissions.

3.       Choose 'change file attributes' and fill in the numbers, 755, 644, 666 or 777 (per the detailed installation instructions).

NOTE: You can select multiple files and change permissions on all of these files at once.

NOTE: You can only change permissions remotely on Unix and other *nix servers. You can not change permissions remotely on Windows servers.
