Weller Pottery Glendale Wall Pocket - Birds - Vintage - 9 inch
Price: US $242.50
This is a Vintage Weller Glendale Wall Pocket. It is just over 9 inches tall and features an embossed hand painted mother bird standing on a branch feeding her four fledglings. The vase body has a blue textured glaze rimmed at the top by a tree branch design. The pocket was manufactured by the Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio during the 1920s. The piece is marked on the back with the Weller Full Kiln ink stamp mark. The wall pocket is pictured in \"The Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery\" by Sharon and Bob Huxford at page 219, Row 3, Item 2. Glendale pieces and especially wall pockets are quite scarce. The pocket has crazing but is in otherwise very good condition and I can find no chips or cracks. The decoration is bright and sharp and the condition is quite good considering the piece is almost 100 years old. I work very hard to correctly describe everything I sell but I am not perfect. I not only check the item, it is checked by a second person. If you are a successful buyer in any of my sales and you feel that I have incorrectly represented the item, please contact me before posting response. Shipping charges include insurance either by the postal service or by me depending on the cost of the item. I accept PAYPAL or cash on local pickup.
