Ed always strives to produce the best traps in existence. These springs are superior to all other springs from years ago or what is on the market today because they are guaranteed for life and are fireproof. You can draw the temper out of any antique trap spring or any modern day springs as far as that goes by using something as common as a cigarette lighter on the spring. They don\'t even recommend boiling your traps when your dying them. This will not hurt these Hutzel Superior Springs. The springs are the heart of the trap., Good springs Good trap. If you have a Newhouse #4 1/2 wolf trap, a 114 Newhouse, or a #8 LPC, and want to put the life back into your old traps, this size spring will fit on all three! The top hole measures 1 1/4 inches and the bottom hole measures 3/4 inches. Pictures 1 and 3 are of a 114 Newhouse Wolf trap that had worn out springs and was brought back to life with these New Springs. Hutzels New Superior springs, Hutzel 4 prong drag, Hutzel swivels and chain also added. Pictures 5 & 6 is of a #4 1/2 Newhouse that has been modified with Hutzel springs and drag along with 3/16 chain and heavy duty swivels.. We have had several trappers along with Hutzel Trap Works test these springs for years now against brand new, Newhouse trap springs for strength, speed, and memory and these Hutzel springs out perform the newhouse ones hands down, there is just no comparison.
