This is an exquisitepost civil war, 1868, "Pork Pie" hat (there is a photo of one from a 1868 plate from Godeys)!

I am not sure though if it is alittle girl'sor a woman's bonnet (due to the size).

It isa fine strawand is trimmed in an orange red velvet ribbon.

It also hasa cordedchin tie and is linedin a finenet, cream silk, and velvet piping.(photo).

side toside - 7" not including ruffle

crown - 1/2"
