Stunningly beautiful, original and very rare, 1890's J. Leisy Brewing Co. Pre Prohibition, Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Beer Tray with fantastic view of the Brewery in Cleveland, Ohio.


This wonderful Tin Litho Tray measures 16 1/2" by 13 1/2” and features a fantastic, Bird's-Eye-View of the extensive Factory / Brewery at of the J. Leisy Brewing Company. The rim features an elaborate flourish design along with numerous images of the Trade Mark of the Brewery - a six pointed star with the letter "L" at the center. Text on the image area of the Tray reads "The J. Leisy Brewing Co. Cleveland, U.S.A." and "Otto J. Leisy, Mgr". Text at the top edge of the image area reads “Annual Capacity 350,000 Barrels.” and text at the bottom edge of the image area reads “Brewers of Fine Beers Only”.


The Tray is signed by the manufacturer, Standard Advertising Company of Coshocton, Ohio and was produced and distributed before 1901 when the Tuscarora and Standard Companies merged to become Meek and Beach. The Chromolithography is of the very highest quality as would be expected from the outstanding craftsmen employed by this premier maker of tin lithographed advertising items.


This beautiful 1890’s American Brewing Company Advertising Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original turn of the 20th century Serving Beer Tray manufactured by the Standard Advertising Company in in the late 1890’s for the J. Leisy Brewing Company.


This very rare and highly desirable, Tin Lithograph Advertising Tray is in very good condition. The chromolithography is stunningly beautiful and the colors are bright and bold. The surface is generally clean and crisp with no significant areas of staining or discoloration. There is no significant areas of surface loss and no significant scratches. There are some small nicks to the lithographed surface with some associated oxidation at the top edge of the image area and a small drip of darkened varnish at approx. 12 o'clock on the raised rim. Otherwise there are 2 or 3 tiny nicks in the Image area and some wear and surface loss at the edge of the rolled rim. Overall the Tray is very well preserved and is a stunningly beautifully display piece!!
