This antique Typewriter is over 100 years old and being sold as-is. The keys all work but several get stuck on the return. I would imagine it just needs some cleaning, oil and tlc. It is an amazing piece of art for display in my opinion but would be an exceptional piece once restored. After extended research and due to the very limited quanties of these old typewriters around I cannot determine the exact model but from the search I can tell it\'s definitely a higher quality model due to the intricate ornate side panels and front splash art. This typewriter weights around 32lbs by itself so with padding and all it will probably weigh around 50lbs or so when shipped.Seidel & Naumann, Dresden , Germany:The handsome Ideal typewriter was invented by two Americans and patented in1897 but was manufactured in Dresden by Seidel & Naumann, makers of bicycles, sewing machines and typewrites.The Ideal is distinctive in having beautiful ornate cast side panels and with this early example, a wonderful Art Nouveau decal splashed on the front panel.
