1901 Buffalo World\'s Fair Bell made from the recovered pieces of the Maine.
Nice rare piece.

\"The Brass in this bell was recovered from the wreck of the MAINE, destroyed in Havanna Harbor, Feb. 15, 1898.\"

I recently picked this up. I haven\'t done anything but dust it off.
Stands 3 3/4\" inches tall. Bottom of the bell is 2 3/4\" inches in diameter.
Some photos use the camera flash some don\'t.


\"A unique piece (or pieces, really) of USS MAINE memorabilia that appears from time to time are the bells made from metal from the USS MAINE. Bronze from the wrecked vessel was used to create a number of items, including several series of bronze bells. The bell below is from the first series produced, which were made to be sold at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, held in 1901. Coincidentally, it was while visiting this exposition that PresidentWilliam McKinley was fatally wounded by Leon Czolgosz. Literally, this bell may have tolled for him!\"
