One of my Great Grandchildren recently asked me if I was as old as dirt and I responded: “Not quite\"! But this old Case Knife might be because it’s got more than 30 years on me. I recently sold one exactly like this and with 2 still left I thought I’d sell just one more and keep the last one for myself, so here it is. This is a guaranteed 100% authentic Swell Center 62042 and among the very first of its kind ever made by Case. The tang stamp reads “Case Bradford, PA” (on 3 lines) which dates this knife as being made between 1905 – 1919. After communicating directly with Case I was told this piece was made during 1914 and that’s 103 years ago! As I do with all knives, I’m making this hard to find Investment Grade Collectible available to the high-buyer in this sale, starting with a measly $7.20 opening offer. This piece has obviously been carried and used very little as the blades seem to be full in both width and length (something you normally don’t find with these truly old ones). A professional definitely cleaned it before I purchased it many years ago, so please remember that this knife is NOT NEW even though it looks (and works) great! But even though it’s got more than a hundred-years on it everything is in amazing shape. Look at it this way, this old gal has outlived just about everyone who was alive on this planet on the day it was made - and that’s a whole lotta folks!
