1910\'s FIRE ENGINE / PUMPER TRUCK CAST IRON TOY BY KENTON IN ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT
Price: US $132.49
Rare and original, 1910\'s, Cast Iron, Pumper / Fire Truck believed to have been manufactured by the Kenton Hardware Co. This wonderful, Cast Iron Fire Engine / Transitional Pumper Truck measures approx. 6” long overall by 4 1/4\" tall (to the top of its Steam Boiler) by 2\" wide.

The Pumper Truck is in 100% original condition with all original blue paint and gold highlights to the wheels. The Truck is entirely integrally cast with the Truck body, driver and the wheels all cast together. The wheels do not roll and our extensive research has been unable to uncover another example of this early, transitional Fire Pumper Toy. In fact we have never seen or heard of a cast iron toy Fire Truck that featured original blue body paint and we believe that the Toy offered here is exceptionally rare!

Founded in 1890 the Kenton Lock Manufacturing Co. began producing toys in 1894 with a line of horse-drawn fire equipment, banks, and toy stoves. Renamed Kenton Hardware in 1900, the company became part of mammoth the National Novelty Corp. merger in 1903 and continued its toy line under the name Wing Mfg. Co. Involved in several unsuccessful takeovers, Kenton eventually emerged as a separate unit, the Kenton Hardware Co., and again produced toys successfully from 1915-1935.

This wonderful, 1910\'s, Transitional Pumper Truck / Fire Engine is in very good condition. It is 100% original and has never been repainted, touched-up, restored or altered in any way. The Pumper retain approx. 75% of its original green surface paint and gold colored paint on the integrally cast, spoke wheels. Please see the numerous scans below for a good indication of the form and condition of this wonderful Cast Iron Toy.

We would GREATLY appreciate any information that would help to definitively identify the manufacturer of this outstanding Transitional Fire Pumper Engine.

A very rare and wonderful, 1910\'s Cast Iron Toy, Fire Pumper / Fire Engine believed to have been manufactured by the Kenton Hardware Company and a fantastic addition to any Collection!!!
