1920\'s Weller Pottery Large Silvertone Pattern Twisted Handle Vase Wild Roses
Up for sale is this rare and beautiful Weller vase. Weller Pottery was founded by Samuel Weller in 1872 in Fultonham, Ohio. The company was mover to Zanesville, Ohio in 1882 where the majority of its production occurred. Weller Pottery produced over 40 different lines of beautiful pottery until it went our of business in 1948.
The pattern of this beautiful vase is known as \"Silvertone\" and dates to the mid to late 1920\'s. Because of its delicate shadings and exquisite floral modeling, the Silvertone line is a favorite of Weller collectors worldwide. This hand decorated vase stands 11 1/2\" tall and has very distinctive \"twisted handles\". It is adorned with lovely Dog Roses on thorny stems and a multitude of coloring including varying shades of yellow, gray, green, pink, lavender, blue, red, and turquoise! As with the most Weller pieces from this time period, it is not marked.
This vase (with yellow flowers) can be found on page 254 of \"The Collectors Encyclopedia of Weller Pottery\" by Sharon and Bob Huxford. It is guaranteed to be an original Weller piece and not a modern reproduction!
The CONDITION of this gorgeous vase is EXCELLENT. Most importantly, there are NO cracks, or repairs. There is light crazing mostly on the bottom of the vase. The decoration is extremely nice with just a couple small spots with loss. The lip of the vase has absolutely no chips or flakes. Overall, this vase is in wonderful shape and displays beautifully!
