Up forsale isa vintage and adorable big, soft,cuddly baby doll made sometime in the 1940\'s or 50\'s. Sheis 20\" long and weighs approx. 2 3/4 pounds. She has no markings, so I do not know her maker. Baby\'s head is made of glossy hard plastic and her body and limbs are made of a soft and slick rubbery material that may be a type of vinyl or latex. I believe it is what they used to refer to as \"magic skin.\" Magic skin was developed in the late 40\'s and present in dolls through the early 1950\'s. It looked and felt more realistic and many baby dolls were made of this. One of the (unfavorable) characteristics of magic skin was that it darkened with age and exposure to heat. Like so many babies with magic skin of that time she has the darkened skin on her body and even darker skin on her arms and legs. The skin is in really good condition otherwise. This sweet baby is fully jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. She has been repaired on her right shoulder with a button like fastener. She comes dressed in one of the most beautiful christening gowns I have ever seen. It is sheer and white with accents of lace, tulle, and satin. Gorgeous!! She also comes with her white bonnet. She has brown molded hair, beautiful blue-green sleep eyes, and a sweet smiling open mouth with two white teeth.Her head is in very good condition with the exception of a reddish tinge to her left cheek (looks like a slight sunburn) and missing eyelashes on her right eye.

Baby\'s molded brown hair is in fairly good condition with minimal rubs in the front and quite a bit of rubs in the back. Her big, blue-green pinwheel eyes are clear and bright and full of life, She has, however, lost her lashes on her right eye. The eyelashes on her left eye are dark and thick. Her eyesopen and close well and need no assistance. She either had no eyebrows or they have faded away. She has a little button nose and a sweet little bright red, open, smiling mouth with two little white top teeth showing, and a red felt tongue. There seems to be no loss of lip color. Her facial complexion is very good- fair but slightly peachy and has a very nice sheen or patina to it. The only flaw on her face is a faint reddish hue to her left cheek. I don\'t know if it\'s residual blushing on one cheek and the other cheek has lost it\'s blush....or what? I am not sure what to use to remove it it one wanted to remove it. Maybe coloring the other cheek would be more practical. ?? She has no rubbing, pen marks, major scuffs, or scratches. Baby really has an adorable face and she poses beautifully. She would still make a great addition to your vintage 40\'s or 50\'s doll collection or Baby doll collection. .

Baby\'s magic skin body is extremely clean with no soiling noted. She has no rips, holes, stains, or tears. There are a couple of small dark spots on her right forearm. As stated above, her skin has darkened with age and exposure to the elements, but it is very smooth and supple and has no drying or cracking whatsoever. Her body is tightly jointed and she can move her arms, legs, and head and can sit well. She must have needed repair on her right arm (at the joint) because someone has sewn a button-like device to her shoulder to secure her arm. It seems to work. She poses well. Her hands (with individual fingers) and her feet are all present and accounted for. Her big toe on her right foot has a tiny pin-hole in the tip. Her knees have creases and dimples. Overall she is in very good, clean condition.

This sweetieis wearing an exquisite and vintage looking, white nylon fancy sheer Christening Gown with short puffy sleeves and layers of white lace and tulle throughout (at the hemline, sleeves, collar, and around the bodice of the gown). It is very long...about 25\" from neckline to the bottom. The gown closes in the back with 2 white buttons. The dress is tagged: \"Styled by the Shepherd\" and shows very little if any wear (no holes, tears, rips, stains or marks noted). The white color is very white and bright. What a beautiful gown for this sweet baby girl! Underneath she has a white cotton slip.Lastly, I have added a pretty white bonnet with white lace trim and a pink satin bow. The bonnet ties under the chin with a white satin ribbon.

This sweetie hasno unpleasant odors.We are a smoke-free, pet-freehome. I know whoever takes this Baby Girl home will absolutely fall in love with her sweet looks. For a 60-70 year-old baby she looks awesome!
