1974 977K Caterpillar Track Loader. Serial Number 46H49800. Just rebuilt both steering clutches about 20 hours ago. Had a new ring gear and rebuilt starter about 60 hours ago. Only has two issues that I know of. First the transmission over heats after about 2 hours of heavy use. I am not sure what causes this, I did have the oil cooler cleaned out about 20 hours ago, which helped but did not fix the problem. Second, the right final drive leaks. I have run roughly 60 hours with it leaking and had no problems. I just keep an eye on it and refill it when it gets low. It weighs 45,000lb clean and empty of fuel. Very powerful engine, it has no problem pushing over 30 inch diameter trees in timber soil. Would make a good farm or small project machine.
