However, I am a Computer, IT, Technical Services Engineer over 30 years. I’ve been with for 25 years and have been buying parts and putting them together like this for the convenience of the buyer not having to pay full retail. (There’s very little profit, if at all, on my part. I just love building stuff). I am honest as the day is long and I can assure you these drives leave my house in perfect working order. My advice: Be delicate, handle with care, get the humidity up in the room, house or apartment. Boil a pan of water if you have to, but get the humidity up. A very high percentage of computer hardware problems stem from static electricity. If you have any problems or are not sure about the hook-up, we may be able to do a consultation at no extra cost to you.
Brand new: The 4 Bay enclosure is brand new right out of the box. I’m sending in it’s original box, all contents included. The Hard drives are also brand new, but in a different context. Hard drive manufactures set aside a number of brand new drives in a warehouse to be used as “Warranty” drives for units that break down. They do not all get used. After a few years they have newer, larger drives and they need the warehouse space, so they sell the “Warranty” drives to the public. Still brand new, in their anti static bag, unopened. I buy them and assemble them into these enclosures.Set up: Put drive in desired location. Keep power off. Plug in all cables and power supply. Choose eSATA or USB 3 cable, (Not both together). Turn on power. Your computer will pick it up after a few seconds and install the drivers needed. Note: If your system does not automatically assign drive letters, you will need to assign them.
