This rod is in extremely high condition for it\'s age. I own several Winston rods and this rod appears virtually unused ( I have fished it once). The medium action is what you expect from Winston: buttery smooth and delicate. Not sure of the wood used in the reel seat but it\'s very dark, probably walnut but it might be rosewood. This is a beautiful example of the quality and craftsmanship Winston has been known for.
