Anet A8/AM8 Printer - Upgraded To Metal Frame Running Marlin + Many Spare Parts
Price: US $175.00

Just purchased two Prusa i3’s so this AM8 has to go to a good home- no room!

This is a home built AM8 Frame 3D printer using an Anet A8 v1.5 motherboard, original A8 servos and X-axis carrier and original metal LM8UU bearings and holders on the original Z-axis mounts. (This design is very easy to expand and can be further upgraded as you go.)

This AM8 build took over 2 months of design , fabrication labor and procurement. Selling at a fraction of the parts invested in it.

See my other listing for an MKS GEN L Motherboard and MKS TFT-35 that was planned for a Board upgrade on this Project (not included with this sale).

Bed leveling is still manual, but a BLTouch leveling probe sensor with bracket is included in the spare parts that come with this printer if you ever want to install it and reflash Marlin. All the other parts in this build are new… the list of new components is extensive:

The T channel Frame is Professionally fabricated from both 2020 and 2040 aluminum channel with cap screws. The frame itself is bolted together and is much stronger than the original Anet plexiglass frame which was subject to warping and vibration.

The Y-axis uses the original metal carrier with upgraded plastic IGUS LM8UU bearings. The heated bed is brand new and has an upgraded strain-relief plug on the back (Anet genuine replacement parts). A glass printing plate also comes with this printer. The X-axis carrier also has new IGUS LM8UU bearings with Teflon lubricant.

The extruder (there’s a spare extruder and bracket included) is all new original Anet A8 replacement parts with cooler fan, new thermocouple, new heater, and heatsink. A 0.4mm nozzle is installed plus this comes with several spare nozzles. All new wiring was done, clearly labeled, and professionally wrapped.

The power supply was also upgraded current wise, and an on/off switch and extra cable length was added in case you want to mount it externally in a Lack Table enclosure, away from heat. Right now the new power supply is secured to the Frame with 5mm screws on a detachable printed bracket.

The Motherboard is Anet A8 original v1.5 running Marlin 1.1.8 with boot loader installed, and is very similar to an Original open source Prusa i3 in menus/ operation. Thermal protection is programmed into Marlin 1.1.8, and the heat bed has a MOSFET Module installed for additional Thermal Protection. The Display console is a new 2004 LCD (spare LCD included) inside a 3D printed Prusa-style enclosure operated with 4 buttons, rather than the Prusa single shaft encoder.

I have used this printer to do PLA, PETG, and ABS in a Lack Enclosure with bed temperatures about 60c without problems. (PLA works best with this printer in normal room installation.) Bed level should be manually adjusted every other print or so with a sheet of paper.

Spare parts that come with this printer are numerous … lots of spare heating blocks w/ 0.4mm nozzles, new PETG X-axis tensioner, BLTouch sensor & bracket, spatula, Cable loops, new MosFet module, lots of heat blocks, bearings, SDRAM card, fan ducts, etc…

(The Lack Table shown in the pictures is not included, but lots of spare parts will come with this AM8!)

Shipping and sale will be limited to the lower 48 US States due to its size and weight for a flat fee. No returns. Will be packed securely to arrive in safe condition.
