For your consideration at this wonderful sale is a rare Apple Plaintalk Microphone Prototype, produced in green. This is for a Power Macintosh or Performa with the Plaintalk audio microphone connector. The extended connector has a 3rd band on the stereo connector that indicates this is a plaintalk connection and requires a supported audio connector for the Power Macintosh to support this microphone. These microphones were typically shipped with retail and factory-direct Performa and Power Macintosh systems from 1995 to 1998, and they were platinum gray (or beige). They were also clear when they shipped with the Power Macintosh G3 in 1999. These are green, and have pre-production writing on the rubber inside. I have never seen them in green before, and they are new. These microphones will not work on vintage systems such as the Macintosh LC, Centris, Quadra or early Performa series or PowerBooks because the connectors use the Apple Omni-Microphone connection.
