The HP Jetdirect 175x is an external print server which allows you to turn your printer into a network device. It connects to supported printers via a USB port, in turn allowing you to connect a 10Base-T or 100Base-T network connection to the 175x print server. Additionally, the 175x has an embedded web-server which allows remote management via a web browser.

Setup is a snap, thanks to HP\'s Install Network Printer Wizard; and system administrators can use HP\'s Web Jetadmin to directly install, configure, and manage the print server. A wide range of networking protocols are supported, including peer-to-peer and client/server under TCP/IP, peer-to-peer under IPX/SPX, Apple EtherTalk, and LPD printing.

With the 175x, only the computer originating the print job needs to be turned on, so you can print from anywhere at anytime. The unit weighs just 3.9 ounces
