It is ideal for small businesses that need just one as well as corporations that require an entire series of servers. These servers use a 1U, also called a rack-mountable, form factor. With a 16GB module in each available slot, a system has the maximum overall memory of 288GB. The memory supported is DDR3 SDRAM with ECC. This memory operates at 1066 MHz. Achieving 28GB of memory requires registered SDRAM. With unbuffered PC3-10600, the system reaches 48GB of memory.Adding storage is made possible by an integrated Serial AT Attachment controller. This controller is the Smart Array B110i. It provides a Serial ATA-300, also known as SATA III, interface. SATA III delivers a throughput of up to 3GB/s. There are two non-hot plug SATA leads provided for connection to either SATA or SAS hard drive. Drives are usable in a JBOD RAID array. JBOD stands for just a bunch of disks. The other RAID configurations supported are RAID 0, 1, and 10. One external 5.25-inch Slim Line is provided and four hot-swap 3.5-inch LFF are available.An HP NC362i serves as an integrated LAN controller. It has two Ethernet ports that support standard, Fast, and Gigabit Ethernet. Connect to routers, wireless access points, and other networking hardware. Users access remote management via IPMI 2.0 and SMASH CLP. The remote management processor is an integrated Lights Out 100i. The LAN interface also provides PXE support and features like WoL or Wake on LAN. Uses of the integrated graphics are not required but expected. Max allocated RAM size for video and audio is 32MB.This server measures 17.6 inches by 26.9 inches by 1.7 inches, and it weighs at least 28 pounds. It can weigh more depending on add-on components. Even at its smallest weight, it can sit on a standard server rack. Power is delivered to the HP ProLiant DL160 G6 via 120/230-volt AC power supply.
