Original NASA Apollo Saturn Rocket Instrument Unit Artifact
* Vintage NASA Apollo, Saturn Rocket, Instrument Unit, Subcarrier Oscillator, Flight Hardware*
The Telemetry Flight Boxes used aboard the Saturn Rocket were critical in assessing the status of all of the components before, during and after launch from Kennedy Space Center.
This particular model of subcarrier oscillator was designed to produce a carrier frequency on which select telemetry data were transmitted.
It was specifically designed by the engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center for the Saturn Moon Rocket.
This device contains an array of micro-electronic components that were built to NASA "Manned Mission Rated" standards.
The precious metal gold was incorporated throughout this module to shield it from any stray, external noise signals.
