The microSD card is preloaded with the Pi1541 software andgame demos to get you started right out of the box. All you should have to do is plug it intoyour Raspberry Pi and you’re good to go.The preloaded Pi1541 software works on my Commodore 64. If you have a different Commodore computer,or use JiffyDOS, you may have to change to a different Commodore emulator.

You will need to supply the following items:

Raspberry Pi 3B or 3B+ (save yourselfsome money and get the Raspberry Pi 3B)

2.5 Amp Raspberry Pi power supply

Commodore computer with a joystick

Basic Instruction to get you started:

Install the Pi1541 on top of theRaspberry Pi

Insert the microSD card into the RaspberryPi

Connect the Pi1541 to yourCommodore computer with the serial cable

Power on your Commodore computer

I highly recommend using the Commodore file browser to browsethe microSD card and load your programs.

After you see the file directory on the OLED display typethe following:

Hit the Return key

When your computer is ready type:

Run

Hit the Return key

The Commodore file browser will list the files on themicroSD card.

Use your cursor arrows to go to the program you want to loadthen hit the Return key. Anotherfile menu normally opens up so you’ll have to repeat the program selectionagain.

Since the Pi1541 emulates the Commodore 1541 disk drive it isjust as slow as a real 1541 disk drive. So give it time to load and run your programs.

I tested the Pi1541 as a complete unit, (Pi1541, 30 inchserial cable, SD card and 10cm ribbon cable), to make sure it all workstogether before I box and ship it.
