A mostly-working Symmetricom 1520R-S300 SyncServer GPS Network Time Server, model number 1520R-S300, is on offer. The Symmetricon S300 units suffer from an internal GPS week number rollover (also known as the Sept 18, 2022 rollover). The effect of this issue is that the device does not properly sync to the GPS as its time reference. This is the cause of the UNLOCKED statuses in the photos. However, many users have replaced the internal GPS receiver in these units to solve this issue.The user can manually enter the current UTC time and date, and the S300 will operate normally but with the accuracy of its internal free-running TCXO. Externally, this unit is in fair condition. The front panel shows some damage which does not affect the operation of the device. There are some scratches on the top and bottom of the unit where, we suspect, someone removed stickers. The pixels in the display are slightly uneven in brightness. The buttons and keyboard behave without issue. The SyncServer was powered up and working for about an hour. It was able to view GPS satellites throughout the day. The unit was connected to a Symmetricom AeroAntenna AT575-142SYW-TNCF-00-RG-41-NM GPS antenna during this test. The S300 has 12VDC present on the center pin of the GPS connector to power the amplifier in a suitable GPS antenna. Any antenna used with this unit should support a 12VDC power supply.
