Tested 1995 Intel 430FX (Zappa) baby AT motherboard, Pentium 75, 16MB RAM + I/O
Price: US $79.00

Most Intel desktop motherboards are boring. This one was controversial when it came out 29 years ago. It is still working as designed. Here is a socket 5 motherboard from Intel, who called it their "Advanced/ZP". Intel employees started calling this the Zappa motherboard, until the widow of the eccentric genius composer Frank Zappa threatened to sue Intel.
It uses the Baby AT form factor and the Intel 430FX chipset with support for 50, 60 or 66MHz FSB speed (for a Pentium processor from 75 to 133 MHz) and two connectors for PIO mode 4 (16MB/sec) IDE. There are four 72-pin SIMM sockets for Fast Page Mode or EDO memory up to 128MB. 256KB of Pipeline Burst L2 cache is soldered down. I include a 75 MHz Intel Pentium CPU, a screw-on heatsink and fan, and 16MB in two 8MB fast page mode SIMMs. I also include the cables and backplates for two serial ports and one parallel port. You can find manuals and jumper settings at this have seen this motherboard boot consistently from floppy diskettes and from an IDE hard drive, with a PCI or ISA video cards. I include only the exact motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler, RAM and I/O ports pictured here. I DO NOT include any other accessories, cables, or software. I offer a 30 day return privilege and free shipping to any U.S. zip code.
