Up for sale with is an incredibly fine quality 19th Century Antique Indian Sterling Silver Tray. The Tray is one of the finest of it\'s kind that I have personally seen. The Tray features incredibly finely Hand Chased repousse designs of Animals in a Forest setting with Buildings in the background. The detail of the work is truly astonishing, you can see the hairs in the Elephant\'s ears and the fur on the Lions etc. Also the border is finely pierced in a Grape and Vine pattern and then the out rim is a Bamboo design. The Tray is not marked as almost no Indian Silver of this period ever was but it has been tested and is guaranteed to be Solid Sterling Silver throughout. The Tray is also of the quality that could really only have been done in Calcutta and was most likely made for Export to England or America, this is not the typical tourist type pieces you normally see. The Tray is in very fine condition for being 125 or so years old with some minor rim bends and a little denting to the central cartouche which amazingly has never been monogrammed. The Tray is also of an unusual size, possibly a large Card Tray but I would just display it on a stand as a unique piece of Art. The Tray measures10-1/4 inches long by6-3/4 inches wide and weighs 295 grams.
