The Nord Department of France runs from the portof Dunkirk south-east along theBelgian border and includes the city of Lille.

The decoration was instituted in 1867, for award toboth Belgians and foreigners for notable acts benefiting a Belgian citizen.
A French decoration – in the shape of an anchor.
I’venot been able to identify this obviously maritime award – any ideas would bewelcomed!
The medals are all in good (GVF+) condition, and are nicely toned.
The group is mounted loose-style, as worn.
An interesting 19th Century French group– definitely worthy of further research.
