This Chicago Northwestern railroad lantern is missing it\'s globe and has been painted silver. The parts have not been painted together and come apart as they should.
It measures approx. 11\" high not including the handle and 6-1/2\" across the base.
It\'s marked C&N.W.R.R. on the top. I think it was made by Adams and Westlake but could find no makers mark, if there is any it\'s under the paint.
There are two small dents on the top part, one can be seen on the 2nd picture and the other on the last picture.
The knob for the wick does not turn and it looks like it\'s a little bent. The old wick in the opening is hard. I could find no makers mark on the burner.
Except for the top of the burner a magnet sticks to this lantern.
It looks like it was painted by hand as opposed to spray paint and the paint is not a hard enamel. When I wiped it off with a magic eraser paint came off on the eraser.
