Wonderful antique circa 1860 Victorian straw and raffia bonnet with pink silk trims and pink and white silk ribbon bows and chin-ties. This is a finely crafted early bonnet with a lovely array of woven patterns in ecru raffia, with small straw button and fan embellishments and knotted white horsehair net, silk ribbon-bows and silk trim \"knitting\" the various elements together into a sturdy structure. In very good overall antique condition with two breaks in the raffia, part of one tie missing and scattered tiny pinholes and soiling to the striped silks, measures 12-inches front-to-back, 8-inches top-to-bottom and 22-inches inner circumference. The ties measure 3-inches wide with one measuring 29-inches long and the other 17-inches long.
