This antique Robe was exquisitely made over 100 years ago. It does have significant damage so please view all of the photos and read the description prior to offerding. This piece is comprised of handmade tambor lace in panels segmented by silk chiffon pieces. Each of the five silk panels has a velvet burnout design of a ribbon leading down to a basket of flowers. An additional 9 inches Of lace scallops around the bottom of those panels. This probably had sleeves at one point, but now there are just large armholes where pieces of the lace are shredding. The center front of the robe has no closure and there are more areas of ripped pieces in this section.You can see thewrapping in photos 4 and 5. Approximately 70% of the garment is not ripped or stained. The sweep of the piece is 161 Inches so there is more than enough fabric to make into something else should you choose. This piece has not been cleaned. It's does not smell like smoke and comes from a smoke free environment although it does have an antique order.
