ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS PARLOR CALENDAR CLOCK NO. 5 \"VARIANT\" (ca. 1876)

You are offerding on a beautiful Seth Thomas antique parlor calendar clock made around 1876. This is the harder to find No. 5 \"VARIANT\" model. The clock measures 20 1/2\" tall, 12 1/2\" wide, and 6\" deep. The case appears to be walnut and is in very nice condition. There is a small piece of wood missing from the bottom left side edge. There were also three holes drilled through the left side of the case just behind the lock. I have no idea why this would have been done but they were filled in with wood putty. I believe the zinc dials are probably the originals but they obviously have been refinished and very well done. The movement is very clean and runs very well. The clock strikes a bell on the hour only. The calendar mechanism runs fine but doesn\'t change the day until about 2 o\'clock in the morning. I imagine an adjustment can be made so that it changes after midnight. There is a full operating instruction label on the inside of the door. Both glasses are very wavy with air bubbles. This clock comes with the winding key witch also operates the door lock. These calendar clocks are getting very hard to find, especially in this condition. Good luck and happy offerding.
