A decorated Stoneware Crock (sans handles), 1-Gallon capacity, New York State origin, ca.1870. Impressed below the rim with a cobalt-washed maker\'s stamp: NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD. The manufactory was in operation roughly 1859-1885. Front features charming Song Bird design, artistically executed in dark, slip-trailed cobalt. Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior.
Condition: Original handles not present, 3/4\" rim chip (left side), and moderate base wear; otherwise Very Good. No cracks or repaired damage.
